Behind the mask photo shoot and installation
This summer I directed my first photo shoot of pieces in my weathered installation. We drove 4 hours across state, hiked a mile to our camp site, ate and drank together and became friends. All strangers and now the most inspiring people I know. The photo shoot was a concept I had in my mind for years. Every model had a custom mask sculpture of their own face. It conveyed a new feeling and message of identity. The mask empowered us to do the shoot most of our first nude shoot ever mine included as I modeled in it as well. We all felt it was a black utopia there and it felt like we were all apart of something beautiful and powerful. I want to thank everyone who came out to do this shoot I will always love y’all and appreciate your spontaneity and graciousness for helping make this art. I learned on this trip that art connects us.
